One Earth

What an amazing coincidence – we are commencing a unit on Biomes just as the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) is taking place in Glasgow. COP26 is addressing the problem of climate change – their plan is to try to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees. In order to achieve this, global emissions must halve by 2030 and reach ‘net-zero’ by 2050.

Clearly, we are facing a crisis and we ALL really need to wake up and be better Earthlings. We have ONLY ONE HOME that we have received from our forefathers and this is the ONLY HOME that we will have to pass down to future generations. So really, we HAVE to take care of it. As Former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon once said, “There can be no Plan B because there is no planet B.”

Please listen to Sir David Attenborough’s emotional plea at COP26.
